St. John's Episcopal Church, the Rev. Ann Boyd will preach at the 8 and 10:15 a.m. communion services Sunday on the topic The Prophetic Messiah - Jesus. The parish choir will sing at the later service. The adult forum is at 9 a.m. Youth Sunday school resumes in the fall.

St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Pastor Quentin Fleming will preside and preach at the 11 a.m. worship service at Doub's Woods Park, followed by the annual church picnic. The topic will be Resurrection Hope.

Trinity Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, the Rev. Eric Norgard is preacher and presider Sunday at the 8:30 a.m. praise worship in fellowship hall and the 10:55 a.m. evangelical worship in the sanctuary. Church Music Sunday will be celebrated at the 10:55 a.m. service.

St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Smithsburg, Pastor Mark Mooney will lead the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service on the topic, The Greatest of These. The pastor and one of his puppet friends will share a children's sermon. Following the service, the congregation will hold a luncheon in honor of Mooney and his wife, Debbie, for their 11 years of ministry at St. Paul's.


First Christian Church, the Rev. Timothy Murtaugh will share the message, Elijah and the Widow, at the 9 and 11:15 a.m. services Sunday. Sunday school for all ages at 10:15 a.m.

First Baptist Church, 15 High St., Hagerstown, Pastor Thom Smith will speak on Five Plus Two Equal Thousands at the 11 a.m. service Sunday. Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. There will be an evening service at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Christ Reformed UCC in Cavetown, the Rev. Carol Hallman's message Sunday at 10:30 a.m. will be The Corner of Forgiveness and Welcome. Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m.

Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren, 20402 Beaver Creek Road, Pastor Rachel Black will lead the 10 a.m. service Sunday. Her topic will be Life on the Edge. Debbie Keefer will be worship leader. Sunday school for all ages begins at 9 a.m. The end-of-school picnic follows the service.

Trinity Episcopal Church, Chambersburg, Pa., Sunday the Rev. Patrick Pierce will be preacher/celebrant at 8 and 10 a.m. communion services. Holy eucharist and healing at noon Wednesday in the parish hall.

Valley Assembly of God, 17544 York Road, Hagerstown, Sunday, the topic at the 10 a.m. service is Goliaths. Bible study for all ages at 9 a.m. Evening worship at 6 p.m. on the topic, Restoration. Wednesday activities at 7 p.m.

Grace Brethren Church, 250 Philadelphia Ave., Waynesboro, Pa., Pastor Larry Weber will be speaking at 10:40 a.m. Sunday on Springs of Life - With Fear and Trembling. Christian education for all ages at 9:30 a.m. Family fellowship at 6 p.m. Wednesday gathering with Bible study, prayer, and teen club at 7 p.m.

A Cry in the Wilderness Ministries, 13194 Monterey Lane, meeting in Steve's Studio/Gallery at Tracey's Corner in Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., Sunday morning worship at 10:30 a.m. will feature the topic, Don't Fear the Storm.

Church of the Holy Trinity UCC, Halfway, the Rev. Tim Leighton will speak on Apostleship at the 10:45 a.m. communion service Sunday. Adult Bible study is at 9:30 a.m.

Church of Christ in the Great Valley, 7306 Wheeler Road, Boonsboro, Paul Toothman will speak Sunday at 10 a.m. on You Say It's Impossible - God Says All Things are Possible.

Trinity Reformed UCC, 33 Potomac St., Boonsboro, the Rev. Don Stevenson will speak Sunday at 10:30 a.m. on the topic, The Goodness of God.

New Beginning Community Church, corner of Dual Highway and Beaver Creek Road, Pastor Mark Snyder will share a message at 11 a.m. Sunday on Ice: God So Near. Music by NBCC Praise Choir. Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. Awana is at 6 p.m. Sunday. Snyder will continue a study in the book of James at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
