Art classes

Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will offer the following classes:

o Art for Toddlers for toddlers and pre-kindergarten, 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, through Friday, June 11. Instructor is Leia Wood. $40 nonmembers, $36 members.

o Young at art for ages 4 to 6, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, through Friday, June 11. Instructor is Leia Wood. $40 nonmembers, $36 members.

o Watercolor studio for ages 13 through adult, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, through Friday, June 11. Instructor is Bob Wantz. $100 nonmembers, $90 members.

o Acrylic studio for ages 13 through adult, 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, June 8 through 22. Instructor is Kent Roberts. $65 nonmembers, $58.50 members.

o Printmaking for ages 9 to 13, 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, through Friday, June 18. Instructor is Audrey Hammond. $80 nonmembers, $72 members.

Online fiction writers workshop orientation

Hagerstown Community College's Continuing Education and Community Services will offer an online fiction writers workshop. Orientation is Wednesday, June 9 at HCC's Valley Mall Center. Genealogy workshop

SMITHSBURG - Marsha L. Fuller will offer a genealogy workshop. The workshop will explore ways to turn seemingly unimportant items, such as old wrapping paper and bills, into ways to gain more knowledge of ancestors. 7 p.m. Smithsburg Library's community room, 66 W. Arthritis and its effects on farming

Summer art classes

Art classes for ages 5 through 8 include screen printing, paper mache, clay figures (sculptures), making cartoons, group murals and storybook making. Costs $20 per person per day, includes lunch and materials. Art classes for adult beginners include watercolor painting, drawing and screen printing. $15 per person, per session. Introduction to ceramics studio class

MONT ALTO, Pa. - The class is designed to introduce students to the art of making pottery and sculptural objects in clay. 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and Thursdays through Thursday, July 1. Nicodemus Center for Ceramic Studies at Penn State Mont Alto, pottery studio, Room 008 in the General Studies building. $125 for the public; $100 for center members, Penn State faculty, staff and students, with a $50 fee for materials for all registrants. Michael Tyson will offer Music! Music! for ages 6 to 9; beginning group guitar for ages 7 to 10; show tunes and theater for ages 9 to 13; music jam for ages 10 to 16; write your own song for ages 7 to 16. Farm and Home Safety Day Camp

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Youths will receive information about animals, hunting, tick, camping, corn picker, fire, pesticide and lawn equipment safety. 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Chambersburg Rod & Gun Club.
