FUNKSTOWN, Md. - Leonard Alvin "Pat" Lushbaugh, 90, of Funkstown, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at his home.
Born Oct. 29, 1919, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Lester and Alice (Gearhart) Lushbaugh.
He was educated in the schools of Washington County.
Leonard entered the Army in May 1943 and was a soldier for three years, serving in the European Theater with the 69th Infantry Division.
He joined the workforce of the Office Equipment Co. in 1947. In 1951, he purchased the company and retired 50 years later. In 1997, he opened a small antique shop called Back Door Antiques as a hobby.
He was a member of the Kiwanis Club for over 50 years and the Elks Club for 67 years. He also served on the board of directors of the National Association of Cost Accountants, the Boys & Girls Club of Washington County, the Arc of Washington County, and also served on his church council at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown.
