SABILLASVILLE, Md. - Mabel Louise Lins, 78, of Brown Quarry Road, Sabillasville, Md., passed away Monday, May 31, 2010, at her home.

Born Aug. 29, 1931, in Wytheville, Va., she was the daughter of the late John H. and Goldie (Wheeler) Hudson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Stephen B. "POP" Lins, Jan. 11, 2004. They were married Nov. 10, 1957.

She was a member of the American Legion Post 239 Ladies Auxiliary of Cascade, Md.

She is survived by her daughter, J. Elaine Crawford and husband, Robert, of Cascade; grandchildren, Stephen of New York and Mariah of Fairfield, Pa.; great-grandchildren, Sydney, 7, and Samantha, 4; special adopted granddaughter, T.J. Lantz; brother, Wayne Hudson of Virginia; sisters, Beulah Dunford of Tennessee and Rebecca Rogers of Virginia; several nieces and nephews; and very special neighbors, Gordon and Karen Brown.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Frankie Bass, Elizabeth Dunford, Jean Smythers and Margaret Radcliff; and brothers, Robert Hudson, Ted Hudson, John Hudson and Jack Hudson.


Services will be Sunday, June 6, 2010, at 3:30 p.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, Md., with Pastor Julie Brigham officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. before the service. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Bethel Cemetery Cascade, Md.
