CUMBERLAND, Md. - Nancy Lee Klosterman, 70, formerly of LaVale, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 27, 2010, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born Dec. 29, 1939, in Eckhart, Md., she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Patricia (McCormick) Michaels.

Nancy also was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Kenneth E. Klosterman Sr., and her sister, Alice Turner.

She graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1958 and attended Catherman's Business School.

Nancy was married April 4, 1959, and became a loving wife and mother to their three sons. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Nancy served as a real estate agent of Long and Foster, in both the Cumberland and Hagerstown areas. She was licensed in Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. She enjoyed her work and made many friends and memories along the way. Nancy also loved to travel and had a zest for life. She was a warm, genuine woman who was loved by many. She had a special ability to allow people to feel understood and cared for. She will be deeply missed.


Survivors include her three sons, Kenneth E. Klosterman Jr. and wife, Karen, of New Market, Md.; Michael Klosterman and wife, Tara, of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and Bryan Klosterman and wife, Christine, of Cumberland, Md.; six grandchildren, Laura Klosterman, Megan Klosterman, Payton Hochard, Cadaen Wilds, Maryam Klosterman and Quinn Klosterman; two brothers, Dean Michaels of Cresaptown, Md., and Leroy Michaels and wife, Dorty, of Edinburg, Va.; two sisters, Cecelia Kight and husband, Ted, of LaVale, and Patricia Whiteman of Edinburg, Va.; a brother-in-law, Ted Turner of Walnut Grove, Calif.; several nieces and nephews; very dear friends, Carol and Ed Firlie, and Lillian Gellner; and a special friend and companion, Ron Cornelius.

Friends will be received at Hafer Funeral Service, P.A., Chapel of the Hills, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Thursday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Bernard Finerty, OFM, Cap, as celebrant.

Interment will be in MSVC Rocky Gap.
