Christian concert to benefit local missionary effort

MERCERSBURG, Pa. -ApologetiX, a Christian parody group known for singing classic rock songs with their own Christian lyrics, will perform a benefit concert June 4 in First United Methodist Church, 11 N. Fayette St.

The First UMC Praise Team will open the concert at 7 p.m., followed by ApologetiX at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Proceeds from the concert will benefit Shores of Grace, a ministry expected to begin this summer in Brazil, to be led by Nic and Rachael Billman, youth pastors and praise leaders at First U.M. Church.

The Billmans, with their three children, plan to move to Brazil in August to focus on a ministry to street children and prostitutes.

The couple also plan to be part of a church there.

The Billmans, who travel as worship leaders and speakers, have released three worship albums.
