HAGERSTOWN, Md. - James William "Jimmy" McPeak, 63, of Hagerstown, Md., and formerly of Hancock, Md., died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at his home.

He was born May 31, 1946, in Hancock, Md., to the late James Edward McPeak and Frances "Sally" Almedia Weller.

He was a 1964 graduate of Hancock High School, Hancock, Md.

He was employed by Staples Distribution Center, Hagerstown, Md.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during Vietnam.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He was a member of W.D. Byron Post 1936 VFW of Hagerstown, Md., and American Legion Post 26 of Hancock, Md.


Survivors include wife, Sue Ellen Munson McPeak, married Aug. 12, 1989, of Hagerstown, Md.; stepmother, Mary Frances McPeak of Needmore, Pa.; daughter, Dana D. Hottle and her husband Rodney of Hagerstown, Md., daughter, Marna D. Swisher of Berryville, Va., daughter, Leslie Messersmith of Littlestown, Pa.; sister, Vivian K. Bernhard and her husband Dick of Needmore, Pa., brother, James E. Reed and his wife Mary of New Castle, Pa., brother, G. Scott McPeak and his wife Sharon of Martinsburg, W.Va.; grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle, Amanda and Zachary; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one brother, Victor H. McPeak.

Graveside services will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, Md., on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dick Bernhard officiating. Military honors will be provided by Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion, Hagerstown, Md.
