May 28, 2010

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. --A 31-year-old Martinsburg man is accused of sexually assaulting and abusing a 6-year-old girl on several occasions since October 2009, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

James Howard Moulden, of 162 Kodiak Drive, was arraigned Friday morning by Magistrate W. Randy Smith on five counts of first-degree sexual assault and five counts of sexual abuse, court records show.

Moulden was in Eastern Regional Jail on a $200,000 bond set by Smith, records show.

A warrant was obtained for Moulden's arrest after he gave a statement to West Virginia State Police Trooper J.A. Ware, who investigated the case, according to court records.

Ware said in a complaint filed with the court that Moulden admitted he had inappropriate sexual contact with the victim, according to court records.
