Waynesboro plans to pave three roads this summer

May 28, 2010|By KATE S. ALEXANDER

WAYNESBORO, Pa. -- The Borough of Waynesboro will pave three roads later this summer.

Portions of Northeast Avenue and Hawbaker Avenue and all of St. Andrews Drive are on the list, Borough Engineer Kevin Grubbs said this week.

Grubbs said Northeast Avenue from Main Street to Roadside Avenue as well as Hawbaker Avenue from Mt. Airy Avenue to Harbaugh Avenue will receive a new surface.

All of St. Andrews Drive, a dead-end street off of North Broad Street, will also be repaired, he said.

Grubbs said he hopes the paving will start some time in August, but that it could start sooner.

Borough Maintenance Supervisor Dennis Benshoff said portions of the streets are so uneven that plowing has become a challenge.
