Historical society to set up information table



The Sharpsburg Historical Society will provide an information table on Main Street, near the square, Saturday at the Sharpsburg Memorial Day parade.

Its headquarters is also scheduled to be open on the second floor of the armory on the square.

This will be the first opportunity to sign up for the town picnic to be held Saturday, July 10.

At the table will be walking tour guides and prints of the Garnet Jex paintings series, "The Upper Potomac in the Civil War."

Sharpsburg Lions active in June



The Sharpsburg Lions will begin an active month June 1 with a pie call at Reeders Memorial Home, followed by a regular meeting in the Den at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Thursday, June 3.

The Lions will visit the West Hagerstown Lions for a Charter Night June 7 and the Boonsboro Lions for a Charter Night June 9.

The Lions will meet again for a regular meeting June 10.

Lion Bill Coulter's Celebration of Life will be Saturday, June 19, at 4 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

The club will visit the Boonsboro Lions for an installation of new officers June 20.

Otzelbergers plan family reunion June 6



A reunion of the Otzelberger family will be Sunday, June 6, at noon at Pavilion No. 3 at Martin L. "Marty" Snook Memorial Park in Halfway.

Family members should bring meat, a covered dish, a drink and a place setting.

Most of the Otzelbergers are from the Sharpsburg area.

Stevens to speak at senior site



Helen Stevens will speak about "Which Oil To Use" and conduct exercises Tuesday, June 1, at the senior site on Mount Vernon Drive in Keedysville.
