LANCASTER, Pa. - Lois Ellen (Hege) Brenneman, age 84, of 258 Brenneman Road, Lancaster, redeemed by the blood of her Savior, entered into the joys of her Lord Jesus on Sunday, May 23, 2010, at her home. Lois' death was due to congestive heart failure.

Born March 22, 1926, in Washington County, Md., she was the oldest child of the late Jonas E. and Elizabeth (Baer) Hege.

On June 10, 1951, Lois married John K. Brenneman. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two chosen daughters, Miriam H. Groff of Manheim and Debra S. Kohl of Minersville. Mrs. Brenneman is also survived by three sisters, Barbara, wife of Benjamin Risser, Dorothy, wife of Marvin Groff, and Martha, wife of Paul Hossler; two brothers, Nathan B., husband of Arlene Hege, and David B., husband of Arlene Hege. Mrs. Brenneman is also survived by six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

One granddaughter, Tamara Lennon, preceded her in death, in 1976.

Lois graduated from Eastern Mennonite High School, Harrisonburg, Va., in 1947. She was an active member of the Life Mennonite Fellowship Church, West Willow, Pa., and she was a former member of Laurel Street Mennonite Church, Lancaster, and East Hanover Mennonite Church, Palmyra.

For many years, Lois worked as a tour guide for visitors to the Amish area of Lancaster County. She and her husband were distributors of Golden Neo-Life Diamite (GNLD) nutritional supplements. As a homemaker, she was blessed to entertain many guests.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2010, at New Danville Mennonite Church, 103 Marticville Road (Pa. Route 324), Lancaster, with pastors Mark Schlabach, Doug Fuhrman and Tim Beachy officiating. Viewings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Friday. Interment will follow the service in the adjoining cemetery.
