WHS football meeting set

All incoming ninth-, 10th-, 11th- and 12th-grade students interested in playing football at Williamsport High School starting in August should attend a player and parent meeting Tuesday, June 1, at 7 p.m. in the Williamsport High School cafeteria.

Important paperwork will be completed and the summer program and expectations will be reviewed for the upcoming season.

The football staff is looking forward to meeting and talking with everyone.

Bus trips planned

Two one-day bus trips are planned, leaving from Williamsport United Methodist Church:

o Saturday, June 26, to Ocean City, Md. Cost is $60.

o Monday, July 12, to New York City. Cost is $75.

WHS boys soccer meeting planned

Students interested in trying out for the Williamsport High School boys soccer program in the fall should plan to attend a meeting with their parents on Tuesday, June 1, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the WHS Media Center.


The summer soccer league, practice schedule and the summer conditioning program will be discussed.

St. James Brethren Church plans yard sale

A yard sale will be held at St. James Brethren Church, 17718 Lappans Road, on Saturday, June 12, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pavilion spots with picnic table cost $15. Parking lot spaces cost $10.

Soup and sandwiches will be sold.

Yard sale to be held at Kinder Haven

Kinder Haven Child Care Center will hold its third annual yard sale at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 35 W. Potomac St., Saturday, June 12, beginning at 8 a.m. Vendor spaces are available for $10 each.

Donations of any unwanted items that can be sold will be accepted. For more information, call 301-223-9122. It will be held rain or shine.

Street fair and block party set for June 5

A street fair and block party will be held Saturday, June 5, on East Salisbury Street, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event is sponsored by Rehoboth United Methodist Church and features food and drinks, games, activities and live music. The event is free.
