Waynesboro's Northside Pool to open this weekend

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Those wanting to save some money on season memberships for Northside Pool will need to pick them by the close of business on Friday, the Borough of Waynesboro announced in a news release.

Northside will open for the season on Saturday. Preseason memberships are available at a $10 discount at Borough Hall, 55 E. Main St., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday,

Memberships at the regular season rates will be available for purchase at Northside during regular hours of operation.

The pools also can be rented for parties, reunions and other events. More information will be available at the pool after opening day, according to the release.

Roads closed for God Bless America ride in Greencastle area

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Several roads will be closed on Sunday, June 6 to accommodate the annual Operation God Bless America XX, Antrim Township officials announced in a news release.


Grindstone Hill Road Extended between Pa. 16 and Leitersburg Road will be closed and Corporal Rihl Lane between Bemisderfer Road and Grindstone Hill Road will be closed with no through traffic on John Wayne Drive and Bemisderfer Road, according to the release.

The closure will last from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The roads serve as a staging area for the ride, a benefit for veterans that concludes at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
