Delays on I-81 in W.Va. possible due to bridge work

May 25, 2010

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Motorists traveling in the area of the Tabler Station exit of Interstate 81 could experience delays Tuesday night and Wednesday because of ongoing construction, the West Virginia Division of Highways announced.

Weather permitting, I-81 traffic will be detoured onto the Exit 8 ramps between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. while girders for a new bridge over the Interstate at the highway exit are expected to be erected, Assistant District Engineer Gary S. Long said in an announcement.

Alternative routes, including W.Va. 51 and 45, are recommended to avoid the construction site.
