Washington County Free Library has announced the winners of its fourth annual Easy Picture Book Writing Contest.
The contest is sponsored in part by the Friends of the Library and is held each year in celebration of Children's Book Week, observed this year from May 10 to 16.
The first-place winner in each division received a certificate of recognition and a hardbound edition of his/her book. A copy of each winning entry was also placed in the library's collection. First-place winners include Olivia Miller (grades two-three), Giulia Pucci (grades four-five), Iris Wechsler (grades six to eight) and Ginni Neff (adult division).
The library also recognized second- and third-place winners. The winners received certificates of recognition and a gift certificate to a local bookstore. Second-place winners include Dante Nova (grades two-three), Allison Miller (grades four-five), Jocelyn Quirple (grades six to eight) and Kanika Wilkins (adult). Third-place winners were Kayla Eichelberger (grades two-three), Quinn Wandalowski (grades four-five), Janai Heise (grades six to eight) and Liz Stiffler (adult).
