On May 10, Friendship Lodge No. 84 inducted six new honorary members for life.

The first inductee was Fred Reels, who has spent the past 25 years as the deputy grand lecturer for the Grand Lodge of Maryland.

During this time, he has helped to train every new worshipful master of Friendship Lodge No. 84 and all of the other lodges in Washington County.

His dedication and devotion to the success of Friendship Lodge is unmatched.

Others inducted included Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in Maryland Thomas Velvin Jr., Past Grand Master Ronald Belanger, Past Grand Master John Biggs, Past Grand Master Francis E. Larrimore, Right Worshipful 2nd District Deputy Inspector Joe Chandler and Right Worshipful John Smothers, District Chief of Protocol.

They were inducted as honorary members for life for their contributions in helping to join the Grand Lodge of Maryland, A.F & A.M and Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Maryland together in fraternal bonds.

This is the first time Friendship Lodge No. 84 has inducted honorary members.

The Freemasons group meets at 54 S. Potomac St. in Hagerstown on the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 7:30 p.m
