Ravens player to visit



The Tri-State Ravens Nest 12's Player of the Year Award Banquet will be Saturday, June 5, starting at 5 p.m. at Hager Hall and Convention Center, at 901 Dual Highway, Hagerstown.

Tickets cost $35 per person.

The Baltimore Ravens player in attendance will be defensive tackle Haloti Ngata, who wears No. 92.

Three football scholarships to Tri-State area seniors and a "True Grit" award will be given away that evening.

The event will include a buffet dinner, silent auction and DJ.

Tickets can be obtained from The Maryland Theatre ticket office or by calling Mike Vaughn at 717-597-9740.

Golf event to be held



The eighth annual South Hagerstown High School Benefit Golf Tournament will be Thursday, June 17, at Beaver Creek Country Club, starting at 8:30 a.m. Entry forms are available at Beaver Creek Country Club or online at http://www.shhsrebelalumni.org.

Sponsorships are available.

All proceeds from the tournament will go to the scholarship funds for the South Hagerstown High School Alumni Association and the South Hagerstown High School Athletic Boosters.

Both groups offer scholarships for graduating boys and girls at South High.

Yard sale planned



Kinder Haven Child Care Center, at 35 W. Potomac St., Williamsport, will host its third annual yard sale Saturday, June 12, beginning at 8 a.m.

It will be held in the fellowship hall of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Vendor spaces are available to rent for $10. The child care center will be accepting donations of any unwanted items to sell.

Green event planned



"Going Green: Hot and Cold Facts for Your Home" will be Saturday at Valley Mall from 9 a.m. to noon at the HCC center. Learn from energy experts what green options are available.

The cost is $24 for the three-hour seminar.
