May 20, 2010

The Washington County Free Library is hosting Speed Dating with a Literary Twist from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 6 at the library, 100 S. Potomac St., downtown Hagerstown.

The fundraising event is open to ages 18 and older.

Admission is $10 and is payable at the door.

Participants are encouraged to mingle with other singles. Meet authors Joanna Campbell Slan, Rebecca York, and Debbi Mack, who will be on hand to talk about their works prior to and after the "Read Dating" portion of the evening. Books will be available for purchase and autographing during the evening's festivities.

Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Library, who support many of the programs that the library offers throughout the year. The Friends provide financial support for many of the library's programs including the popular summer reading club (children's and adult) and summer language classes. Friends members can be found helping out at library functions and programs throughout the county year-round.
