HAGERSTOWN -- Senior pitcher Greg Lynn gave up only one run and five hits in a complete game to lead the second-seeded North Hagerstown Hubs to a 7-1 victory over the 10th-seeded North Carroll Panthers on Tuesday in the Maryland Class 2A West baseball quarterfinals.

North Hagerstown (13-6) will host sixth-seeded Century --a 5-2 winner over third-seeded Rockville -- today at 4:30 p.m.

"I had more command of my fastball than I normally do," said Lynn (4-3), who has signed to play at Frostburg. "I thought my control was really good. There might have been five or six pitches that didn't go where I wanted them to go. But then I corrected myself. I know my teammates are going to score some runs for me. We have got some good hitters in the lineup."

Aaron Stottlemyer, Ty Benson, Aaron Stoner and Ryan Sword collected two hits apiece for North Hagerstown. Benson and Stoner had two RBIs each, while Phillip Pietro and Stottlemyer scored two runs each.

"It was a good all-around performance," North Hagerstown coach Steve Myers said. "We had good pitching, good hitting and good defense. We got the big lead early and protected it. We kept adding runs on. Greg Lynn came out and did what he needed to do. I've been waiting to see that for a while. I keep taking it one day at a time."

North Hagerstown took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Stottlemyer singled to right, stole second and scored on Stoner's single to center.

The Hubs added four runs in the second for a 5-0 lead. Andrew Yacyk doubled to center, Pietro singled to right and Jake Bachtell was hit by a pitch to load the bases with no outs. Yacyk and Pietro both scored when Charles Cvijanovich reached on an outfield error. One out later, Benson singled to center to knock in Bachtell. Stoner then singled to right to drive in Cvijanovich.

The Hubs got a run in the fourth when Stottlemyer tripled to right and scored on a sacrifice fly by Benson.

The Hubs scored their final run in the fifth when Pietro walked and came home on a double to center by Cvijanovich.

The Panthers (8-12) got their only run in the bottom of the seventh when Austin Maloney scored on a single to right by Dave Anderson.
