Harold Elmer Fraley, 87, of 11535 Englewood Road, Hagerstown, Md., died Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Feb. 28, 1923, in Thurmont, Md., he was the son of the late James Baker and Lucy Annie Spielman Fraley.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Fraley, on June 9, 1991.

He retired from Mack Trucks, after 22 years of service.

He was a 50-year member of Funkstown American Legion Post 211 and a life member of AMVETS Post 10.

He is survived by three sons, Donald E. Stitely and wife, Georgette, Richard D. Fraley and wife, Bonnie, and James N. Fraley and wife, Debbie; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandsons; and his companion, Lois Lowery and her family.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Richard H. Jewell will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside by AMVETS Post 10 and the Marine Corps League of Hagerstown.


Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
