Special request

I have a special request for my fellow Funkstonians. With the school year coming to an end, I would love to hear from any students who attended Funkstown Elementary School and are now graduating seniors.

Please e-mail me at with information. Try to get me a line or two on what our young ladies and gentlemen are looking forward to after they graduate.

Grads meet

Speaking of graduates, South Hagerstown High School graduates from 1963 meet the second Tuesday of the month at 9 a.m. at the Red Men Lodge in WIlliamsport. All men from that class are encouraged to attend.

LuHowl planned

With summer right around the corner, it's time to start thinking about the LuHowl Fundraiser to benefit the Humane Society of Washington County.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Bowmans' Milestone Farm in Williamsport.

All proceeds help support the Humane Society provide low-cost spaying and neutering, microchipping and vaccinations. This year's event will feature both silent and live auctions as well as dinner furnished by Applause Catering. Wantz Distributors and T&N Liquors will provide the spirits. Entertainment will be provided by The Spotlights On. Several companies have come together to furnish auction items.
