"Every day I'm astounded at the number of smoking drivers that seem to think it's OK to discard their cigarette butts out the window. Can just one smoker out there explain to me why you think this is OK? Think about this before you answer: The American Chemical Society published findings from the Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research that estimates that 4.5 trillion - trillion - cigarette butts are thrown out into our environment every year. They are an eyesore, and even worse are adding chemical extracts into the water that are toxic to fish."

"Something that keeps popping up after major catastrophes like the mortgage mess, Katrina, and now the oil spill, is how inept federal agencies are. Washington is broke."

"It is a well-established fact that I am dumber than a hog is about Sunday, so someone please enlighten me. All the misled Mexican demonstrators in Texas, Arizona and other U.S. border states, are saying that we Americans are racists, bigots, killers and thieves. They say our government is corrupt, anti-Mexican, anti-immigration and a zillion other hateful accusations. If we are so bad, why are they trying so hard to get into the United States?"

"I see on the website that there are accusations of financial irregularities. Why don't we require the organizations that solicit public funds to submit to annual financial audits? All the public ever hears is that we need more money. Really? Who would know? We should require fire companies and other solicitors of public monies to stand up to financial scrutiny."
