Greetings, neighbors

Long time, no see. I have missed you. I am appreciative of your cards, meals and good wishes. Granted, a broken foot does not hinder my typing ability, but a convenient, comfortable working position has been difficult to find.

Band sounded great

If you were at Shafer Park on Sunday, you enjoyed a great day out with the community topped off by a concert by the BHS Symphonic Band. If you missed it, plan to attend the band's spring concert Tuesday, May 25, at 7 p.m. at the school. Tickets cost $5 and are available at the door.

Library event

Tonight at the library, the Tweens and Teens: Books and More program will begin at 6 in the community room. Bring books to share and make an interesting craft. Refreshments will be served.

Call 301-432-5723 to register.

Carnival coming

The carnival is coming to town. The annual Boonsboro Rescue Co. Carnival rolls into the park May 28. Highlights include a variety of musical performances each night at 7:30, and fireworks on June 4. The kitchen opens nightly at 5:30 p.m. so at the very least, stop by for dinner.

Cookout planned

Trinity Lutheran Church is planning a school's out cookout for students entering sixth grade through new high school grads Wednesday, June 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information, e-mail

Stawberry festival

Also coming up, the annual strawberry festival brought to you by the Rohrersville Ruritan. Lots of strawberry-themed treats and other activities will be on tap June 13 and 14 at the Ruritan Park in Rohrersville.
