Animal shelter in need of cat food

May 17, 2010

Kitten season has arrived and the Humane Society of Washington County is asking the public to help. It is in need of kibble for cats and kittens, and cat litter.

The cats and kittens at the shelter are in need of Purina Adult Cat Chow in the blue bags, Purina Kitten Chow and any nonscoopable cat litter, especially Yesterday's News.

"Our supplies are dwindling for the cat and kitten food, and litter," said Paul Miller, the shelter's executive director. "With kitten season just beginning, we are a bit concerned that our supplies will be drastically reduced in a very short time. Residents of Washington County have always been very generous and have helped us in the past. We hope they will be able to help us once again."

Donations can be taken to the shelter during normal working hours, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
