Two Long Meadows Rotary Club members, Jim Mills and Magnus Dahlgren, have recruited Scott Pittenger, a junior at South Hagerstown High School, and Connor Gilchrist, a junior at Smithsburg High School, to attend the annual Rotary-sponsored Rotary Youth Leadership Academy at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pa., from June 13 to 16.

The program is a leadership training week comprised of young adults who were selected based on their leadership potential. Its core curriculum includes fundamentals of leadership, ethics of positive leadership, communication skills, problem solving and conflict management, building self-confidence and self-esteem, elements of community and global citizenship, and the purpose of Rotary in the community and internationally.
