Locust Point yard sale



Neighborhoods 1st Locust Point will hold a block party in June. To raise money for the block party, the group will hold a yard sale Saturday at the lot behind Locust Point Market.

The group is collecting recipes for a Locust Point community cookbook. To submit recipes, call 301-992-6943; e-mail them to justlynda59@yahoo.com">justlynda59@yahoo.com; mail them to Cookbook, 306 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD 21740; or put them in recipe boxes provided in some area businesses.

The group is working to name the alleys in its neighborhood and has signs posted to make it easier to locate them for emergency services.

Anyone interested in submitting a name for consideration or for further information on this project, call Lynda at 301-992-6943.

The group meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month at 53 E. Baltimore Street (Congregation B'Nai Abraham) at 7 p.m.

Hagerstown Lions Club



Tuesday - Monthly business and administrative meeting.

Lion Watson Rasey reported that he and Lion Don Trumble collected 94 glasses, 159 lenses, 13 cases and one hearing aid during the period ending April 29.

Lion Paul Leatherman announced that the Hagerstown Lions Club has thus far collected $182 in loose change to be contributed to the Lions Saving Kids Sight Foundation.

Yard sale and car wash



There will be a yard sale and car wash Saturday at Turner's Skate Palace on Virginia Avenue from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Fast Forward inline racing team.

Museum recital



Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will present the museum consort in a program of music for children Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The recital is sponsored in part by the George W. Comstock Music Trust. It is free and open to the public. A reception, hosted by members of the museum's volunteer organization, the Singer Society, will follow the concert.

Bingo event



Western Enterprise Fire Co. will hold a bingo event Sunday.

The fire company is at 526 Washington Ave.

Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and bingo starts at 2 p.m.

Tickets cost $25, which includes 29 games.

There will be tip jars and raflles for cases of meat, steaks, ham slices hot dogs and hamburgers. Tickets will be availalbe at the door.
