Court Appointed Special Advocates

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Washington County recently was awarded renewed certification of membership status by the National Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association.

The certification is effective until April 2014 and recognizes that the Washington County program is in compliance with the National CASA Association's high standards for quality child advocacy, scoring a 97 percent cumulative compliance rating.


Camillions, a specialty retailer at 12814 Shank Farm Way in Hagerstown, will present a $1,500 donation to Moveable Feast as part of Brighton's Feed Our Friends fundraiser.

Camillions was among the retailers that joined with Brighton last summer to sell a limited-edition collection of semi-precious jewelry designed especially to help feed struggling Americans.


West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Two Martinsburg businesses recently were honored by the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) for their roles in vocational rehabilitation.

In Touch Communications, at 51 Aikens Center, and Food Lion, at 1317 Old Courthouse Square, received distinguished employer awards from DRS, which is West Virginia's primary employment resource for people with disabilities who want to work.

Plamondon Companies

FREDERICK, Md. - The Plamondon Companies recently raised $12,281 during a two-week period from Feb. 22 to March 7 to support relief efforts in Haiti following the January earthquake.

Roy Rogers restaurants contributed 50 cents from the purchase of every Gold Rush Sandwich to the fund. During the two weeks, the restaurants sold more than 14,000 Gold Rush Sandwiches, raising $7,103.

The Plamondon Companies' hotel division contributed $1 for every room booked at its three hotels in Frederick. With more than 5,000 rooms sold during the two weeks, the hotels contributed $5,178.

LANCASTER, Pa. - Fulton Financial Corp. recently was named one of the country's 100 most trustworthy companies by Forbes.

The rankings were done by Audit Integrity, an independent financial analytics company in Los Angeles.

Fulton Financial is the only bank included in the large-cap and mid-cap company lists, and is one of only four banks on the list of 100 companies.

Fulton Financial Corp. is the parent company of The Columbia Bank.
