HAGERSTOWN -- The Hagerstown Suns scored three runs in the first inning and got six strong innings from starter Trevor Holder in a 5-2 victory over the West Virginia Power on Thursday night at Municipal Stadium.
Holder (2-1) allowed four hits and one unearned run while striking out three over six innings.
Francisco Soriano singled, Sean Nicol hit an RBI double and Destin Hood drove in two runs with a double in the first inning for Hagerstown (17-16).
West Virginia (14-19) got a run in the second with the help of two Suns errors. Jose Hernandez hit an RBI single.
The Suns made it 4-1 in the sixth. Brett Newsome singled, Sandy Leon walked and the runners moved up a base on Eury Perez's sacrifice bunt. Soriano's sacrifice fly scored Newsome.
