Volunteers needed for Taste of the Town

REACH is in need of volunteers to help with its sixth annual Taste of the Town and Benefit Auction in October.

A meeting for anyone interested in volunteering will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, at REACH, 140 W. Franklin St., Suite 300, Hagerstown.

Volunteers are needed for the following committees:

o Restaurant Committee. Assignments include solicitation and support of restaurants including their recognition and any expressions of appreciation for their participation.

o Decorations Committee. Assignments include planning and orchestrating the decorations for the event.

o Financial Committee. Assignments include setting ticket and sponsorship levels, logging and tracking ticket sales and sponsorships, and the check-in/check-out.

o Publicity/promotion. Assignments include ticket printing, development of the program book and publicity in the local media.

o Auction. Assignments include the solicitation and cataloging of silent and live auction items, writing item descriptions and tagging live and silent auction items, transportation and display of the items the day of the event.


Taste of the Town will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, at Hagerstown Community College's Athletic, Recreation, and Community Center.
