May 14, 2010

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. --A Bunker Hill, W.Va., man is accused of stealing money from two dancers while they were performing earlier this month at a club in southern Berkeley County, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Lester Waters, of 107 Milkweed Lane, was arraigned Friday morning by Magistrate Sandra L. Miller on two misdemeanor counts of petit larceny, according to court records.

One of the victims told Berkeley County Sheriff's Deputy Michael P. St. Clair on May 1 that Waters took her money bag, which contained $50, after she had given him a private dance at Paradise City Night Club, according to court records.

Waters was stopped by a bouncer before he left the club and was found with the woman's bag with all of the money still inside, according to court records.

Another dancer separately told police that she left her bag at the front of the stage, where no one except Waters was sitting, according to court records.

The woman told police that after completing her dance, she discovered her bag was missing, and she later found it in a hallway where Waters was standing with $70 missing, according to court records.
