Hagerstown woman hurt in crash

May 12, 2010

A Hagerstown woman was taken to Washington County Hospital to receive treatment for injuries after a two-vehicle accident Wednesday at the intersection of Maryland Avenue and West First Street in Hagerstown.

Mary Hines, 81, of 945 Maryland Ave., was wearing a neck brace when she was taken to the hospital by an ambulance, Hagerstown Police Officer Clif Briggs said. She was later discharged, according to a hospital spokesman.

Hines was driving north on Maryland Avenue at about 1:45 p.m. when her Buick Century collided with a pickup truck, Briggs said.

Briggs said the driver of the pickup, Natasha Henson, 18, of 328 W. Howard St. in Hagerstown, was cited for failure to stop at a through-highway entrance and failure to yield right of way.
