WILLIAMSPORT -- A water tanker truck was driven through a fence into a wading pool at Byron Memorial Park Saturday night or Sunday morning, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.
A large section of fence surrounding the wading pool and a larger pool were damaged, but it appears the wading pool was not damaged, according to a news release.
An investigation shows the Ford F800 truck, which was driven into the pool between 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday, was taken from the Hagerstown Speedway, the release said.
Improvements have been made to the wading pool, but the truck "missed all the important stuff," Williamsport Town Council member Timothy W. Fraker said Sunday.
