HAGERSTOWN --A Clear Spring man was in fair condition at Washington County Hospital on Sunday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 40 Thursday, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

John Eugene Hose of Rockdale Road was attempting to cross U.S. 40 from Cedar Ridge Road to Rockdale Road just before 1 p.m. when he pulled into the path of a 1990 GMC pickup truck being driven by Reed Flowers of Hancock, Maryland State Police Trooper David Ward said Sunday.

Hose, Flowers and Flowers' wife, Reva, were transported to Washington County Hospital, but their injuries were not life-threatening, Ward said.

Reed Flowers was discharged from the hospital and Reva Flowers was released after being seen in the emergency room, hospital officials said.

Hose, who was driving a 2007 Hyundai, was cited for failure to yield the right of way, Ward said.
