Trojans blow out Susquehannock

GLEN ROCK, Pa. -- Jordan Riley smacked a three-run homer to highlight a nine-run first inning as Chambersburg shut out Susquehannock 17-0 in three innings on Saturday.

Tyler Fore had two hits, including a three-run homer, and four RBIs for the Trojans (12-6). Andrew Byers had two hits and four RBIs and Greg Hammond added two hits and three RBIs.

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Mercersburg Academy finished in second place at the Mid-Atlantic Prep League tournament with a first-round win over Blair Academy before falling to Hun School in the final.


In the win over Blair, Sam Rodgers had three hits and two RBIs and Matt MacMahon had two hits and two RBIs for the Blue Storm (11-4-1).

Margaret Bacon had three goals and Carrie Spicher and Ellen Barr each added two goals to lead the Saints past the Rebels.

Morgan Stephens had a goal and an assist, and Jessie Cho, Jordan Wills, Megan McFillen, Mary Bacon, Rachel Herrera, Emily Park and Courtney Peterson each added a goal for Saint James.

Lauren Marriner scored all three goals for South (0-12). Heather Callahan had an assist and Lindsay Beall made 11 saves.

Mount swept by CCSU

EMMITSBURG, Md. -- Mount St. Mary's (18-28, 12-15) was swept by Central Connecticut State 8-4 and 27-7 in a Northeast Conference doubleheader.

Waynesboro graduate Andrew Caron led the Mount with three hits, including a home run, and four RBIs in the doubleheader. Boonsboro graduate Kyle Kane added three hits, including two doubles, in the second game.


Shank wins MAC titles

CHESTER, Pa. -- Elizabethtown College freshman Taryn Shank, a North Hagerstown graduate, won the women's 5,000-meter run in 18:22 and the 10,000 in 39:49 at the Middle Atlantic Conference championships.

In the same meet, Delaware Valley College freshman Tracey Forsythe, a Williamsport graduate, placed fifth in the women's 3,000 steeplechase in a school-record time of 12:10.87.

Haje sixth at nationals

UPLAND, Ind. --King College freshman Naseem Haje, a Williamsport graduate, placed sixth in the men's 10,000 at the National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association championships in 33:00.23.
