Emmanuel Christian School competes in fine arts festival

PORT DEPOSIT, Md. - Emmanuel Christian School in Hagerstown participated in the 2010 Maryland Association of Christian Schools Elementary Fine Arts Festival held April 23 in Port Deposit.

The following list is the categories and the placement finishes of the ECS students:

o Elementary Fine Arts includes students in grades one to six

o Poetry - third place, Emmett Hoyt

o Narrative - third place, Daniel Hendershot

o Intermediate Poetry - third place, Marissa Swope

o Oral Interpretations - third place, Morgan Miller

o Oral Interpretations Intermediate - second place, Marissa Swope; third place, Greggory Tenney

o Reader's Theater - ECS students placed third

o Monochromatic Drawing - first place, Daniel Hendershot; third place, Emma Trobaugh


o Polychromatic Drawing - first place, Rebecca Moyer

o Sculpture Intermediate - first place, Greggory Tenney

o Sewing/Textiles Intermediate - third place, Jessica Aikens

o Photography Intermediate - first place, Rebecca Moyer

o Digital Photography Intermediate - (tie) second place, Marissa Swope; second place, Grace Staley

o History Projects Primary - third place, Emmett Hoyt

o Bible Teaching - first place, Jessica Aikens

o Primary - first, second and third grades

o Intermediate - fourth, fifth and sixth grades

There were 14 schools participating in the MACS Elementary Fine Arts Festival, including Emmanuel Christian School from Washington County and 13 schools east to Baltimore, including Port Deposit.
