SCORE roundtables offer way for entrepreneurs to connect

May 08, 2010|By BOB POOR

Q: Recently on the SCORE national website, we read about SCORE business roundtables. Are there any local plans to offer roundtables in the Hagerstown area?

A: You bet. The first one took place Thursday, March 25 at The Landing restaurant on Dual Highway.

Mark your calendar for the next one, which will be Thursday, June 24, at noon at The Landing. The event is free and food is available for purchase.

Registration is easy. Simply call SCORE at 301-766-2043 and leave your name, phone number and e-mail address. That's it.

The SCORE business roundtables are designed for small-business owners and operators. Participants can connect, share ideas and get feedback as they build the success of their businesses.

The roundtables help emerging firms seize opportunities and learn from the success of SCORE mentors and other entrepreneurs while growing their peer networks.

"SCORE helps to connect experienced business owners from our area and provides support and insight through open discussion," said Bob Jones, SCORE chapter chairman. "The networking and sharing is really outstanding as part of the SCORE business roundtables."

We encourage you to join our next peer group discussion facilitated by a SCORE expert and share in both the questions and answers.

Each SCORE business roundtable focuses on topics that are important to you - from marketing to growth and from business planning to funding opportunities.

In summary, you will get help to grow your business network, discuss topics that matter to you, get feedback and helpful advice, learn from the success of others and connect with experts and entrepreneurs.

This adds up to access to the collective wisdom of your peers, perspectives from a variety of business owners and operators, availability of expert facilitators and SCORE mentors, and opportunity to learn new approaches in your business.
