Marvin "Billy" Boles, age 79, peacefully passed on to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at his home following a long illness.
Born May 1, 1931, in Jodie,W.Va., he was the son of the late Marvin "Shirley" Boles and Mary Adeline Skaggs Boles.
Billy was a retired coal miner and a member of UMWA. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and he was of the Baptist faith.
Billy was preceded in death by his sisters, Brenda Boles and Jean Eagle.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Hatcher Boles; his children, Kathy McKinley and her husband Bill of Williamsport, Md., Connie Myers and her husband Terry of Hagerstown, Md., Robin Holmes and her husband Terry of Canvas, W.Va., Sam Boles and his wife Pam of Ansted, W.Va., Kevin Boles and his wife Tedra of Ansted, W.Va., and Roger Legg and his wife Bonnie of Summersville, W.Va.; his sisters, Louise Boles of Williamsport, Md., and Nancy Proctor Marquiss of Falling Waters, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ansted, W.Va., on Sunday, May 9, 2010, at 3 p.m. with Pastor Larry Gawthrop officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens in Victor.
Friends may gather with the family at the funeral home on Sunday, May 9, 2010, from 2 to 3 p.m.
