Elementary bands to perform May 13
The Sharpsburg Elementary School fourth- and fifth-grade bands will hold a spring concert Thursday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the school gymnasium.
Admission is free. A reception will be held for students, families and friends following the program in the cafeteria.
Ruritan to sponsor basket bingo Saturday
Keedysville Ruritan will sponsor a basket bingo featuring Mother's Day baskets Saturday at the Keedysville Community Center.
Doors open at 4 p.m. Bingo starts at 6. Tickets cost $15. Seating is limited. No one under 13 will be admitted. Smoking is prohibited. Games of chance and chance baskets will be available. Food will be provided by the Red Byrd. For more information, call 301-432-2650 or 301-432-0281.
Band to present concert
The Rohrersville Cornet Band will present a spring concert Sunday, May 16, at 3 p.m. in the band hall on Main Street in Rohrersville. The concert, "A Celebration of American Music," will feature traditional American songs or songs by American composers. The concert is free and open to all. Refreshments will be served. St. Mark's to host yard sale May 15
St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Lappans Road will host a yard sale Saturday, May 15, starting at 8 a.m. at the church Parish Hall. All profits will go toward the Honduras mission trip that Andrea Perez and Leah Beachley will be participating in this summer. Table space is available for $10 a table. Sandwich sale planned
Trinity UCC, at 33 Potomac St., Boonsboro, will hold a pork barbecue and pit beef sandwich sale Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Pork and beef will be sold as sandwiches or by the pint and quart. Baked goods will be available.
Kavanaugh to speak at senior site May 10
Ita Kavanaugh will speak on the topic "You are Skin and Bones" Monday, May 10, at the senior site on Mount Vernon Drive in Keedysville. Young at Heart exercises will continue Wednesday. For more information, call Martha Drennen at 301-432-5624.
