MYERSVILLE, Md. -- A Hagerstown man who was injured Thursday in a crash in Frederick County, Md., has died.
Charles Thompson III, 46, died at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, a spokeswoman there said Friday.
Thompson was flown to the shock trauma center after a crash in which he was thrown from the motorcycle he was driving, according to Maryland State Police.
The crash occurred at 7:48 p.m. Thursday, when Zachary Gunther, 19, of Myersville, was attempting to enter eastbound U.S. 40 from Pleasant Walk Road in a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta and pulled in front of the motorcycle driven by Thompson, police said.
Gunther was cited for failing to yield the intersection right of way, police said.
Trooper 1st Class M.E. Crouse said Friday that police will talk next week to the Frederick County state's attorney's office about whether there should be additional charges.
