National Pike Festival

Friday, May 14, through Sunday, May 16

Begins with wagon train encampment at Plumb Grove, 2654 Broadfording Rd., Clear Spring, from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. Wagon train leaves Plumb Grove at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 15, and travels east along U.S. 40 and Alternate U.S. 40 to its final stop at Boonsboro's Shafer Memorial Park at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 16. Halfway Park Days

Saturday, May 29, and Sunday, May 30.

Martin L. Snook Memorial Park, Halfway. Roughly 100 venders, plus food, music and magic show. On Saturday, performances by South Hagerstown and Williamsport high school jazz bands. For more information, call Stan Johnson, 301-739-3219.


Barge Bash

Saturday, June 26

Contemporary American Theater Festival

July 9- Aug. 1

Shepherd University, Shepherdstown, W.Va. Original plays from five American playwrights. Plays include "White People," by J.T. Rogers; "Lidless," by Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig; "Inana" by Michele Lowe; and "The Eelwax Jesus 3-D Pop Music Show," by Max Baker (book and lyrics) and Lee Sellars (music). Aug. 21-Aug. 22
