Three hurt in crash on U.S. 40 west of Hagerstown

CLEAR SPRING -- Maryland State Police responded Thursday afternoon to what was reported as a head-on, two-vehicle crash on U.S. 40, according to a 911 dispatcher.

The dispatcher said three people were hurt, but their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Two people were taken to the hospital and a third ambulance was called to the scene, the dispatcher said.

The crash occurred west of Hagerstown, at the bridge near Hagerstown Speedway. It was reported at about 12:45 p.m., according to the dispatcher.

A spokesperson with Maryland State Police said more information about the crash would be available Friday.
