NHHS class of 1980 planning 30th reunion



The North Hagerstown High class of 1980 will hold its 30-year class reunion Saturday, July 24, at the Williamsport Red Men Lodge under the pavilion. The cost is $45 per couple/$22.50 per single. The dress will be casual, and the party starts at 5 p.m.

Friday yard sale to benefit city



Keller Williams Premier Realty will hold a yard sale Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its office at 1185 Mount Aetna Road in Hagerstown.

Proceeds from the sale will go to the City of Hagerstown.

The money will be donated May 13 as the company celebrates RED Day, which stands for Renew, Energize and Donate. This year, the company is planting seedlings at Hager Park near Municipal Stadium for the new garden the city is building.

Crop for a Cure to aid Relay for Life



The second annual Crop for a Cure will be held at the Red Men Lodge in Williamsport Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The scrapbooking event is a fundraiser for the upcoming Washington County Relay for Life.

Tickets cost $40, which includes lunch. Last year, the group raised more than $1,400.

There will be door prizes and a catered lunch.

The lodge is at 16129 Lappans Road in Williamsport.

Christian speaker to appear at church



Faith Christian Fellowship, at 16726 Lappans Road in Williamsport, will host Christian speaker Mike Guzzardo at the 9 and 10:45 a.m. services Sunday.

He will have just finished an event titled "Acquire the Fire" at First Mariner Arena in Baltimore.

Faith Christian has a group of 32 teens and youth leaders attending the event. The public is invited.

Mini-golf event to help Children In Need



A Mini-Golf Tournament to benefit Children In Need will be Saturday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Family Recreation Center off U.S. 40, east of Hagerstown.

Participants are asked to bring gently used clothing, toiletries, school supplies or donation for Hagerstown school-aged children.

The tournament entry fee is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Prizes will be awarded for lowest score for adult and child. The rain date is May 22.

Nutrition fair today



Bester Elementary School and the Washington County Public Schools' Food and Nutrition Services Department will host a nutrition fair today from 1 to 3 p.m. at Bester.

Parents of Bester students in kindergarten through first grade are invited to the fair between 1 and 2 p.m.; parents of students in grades three through five are invited between 2 and 3 p.m.

It will be an opportunity for parents to learn about healthy eating and physical activity and ways they can model good behaviors related to food, nutrition and healthy physical activity.

Representatives from the Washington County Health Department, Washington County Agricultural Extension office, Washington County Health System and University of Maryland Master Gardeners will provide taste testing and demonstrate healthy cooking techniques. Door prizes will be available for parents attending the event.
