Washington County and Tri-State area
are fortunate to have such a great hospital

To the editor:

Over the years, I have heard numerous negative comments about Washington County Hospital's inability to provide quality care.

I am writing to dispel some of those rumors. I was involved in a near-fatal accident on Interstate 70 westbound at mile marker 9 on March 30, 2010. First of all, the Clear Spring and Hancock Fire and Rescue companies did an excellent job in getting me stabilized and cut out of the vehicle.

Upon arrival at Washington County Hospital, the trauma team went to work to determine the severity and extent of my injuries. Dr. Marc Kross and his trauma team left no stone unturned when it came to my care. The entire staff of the critical care (CCU) and the progressive care (PCU) units were exceptional in giving care and answering any and all questions that I had. This makes the hospital stay more tolerable given the circumstances. By the way, the food was also good.

We all can find negative things about anything, however the people of Washington County and the Tri-State area should count their blessing that they have a hospital that has such a compassionate, professional and caring staff. Thanks to all who helped in putting me on the road to recovery.
