Casimir Bannell Dlugosz, 86, of 13718 Royal Road, Hagerstown, Md., passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Loyalton of Hagerstown, Hagerstown.

Born Saturday, June 30, 1923, in Bound Brook, N.J., he was the son of the late Casimir Dlugosz and the late Victoria Malec Dlugosz.

He was a graduate of Bound Brook (N.J.) High School.

He was employed at Mack Trucks Inc., retiring in 1981 after 40 years.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a medic in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Golden Bulldogs, Knights of Columbus, American Legion and BPO Elks 378.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lena Dlugosz; one daughter, Victoria Snyder and husband, Joel, of Frederick, Md.; grandson, Timothy Snyder of Frederick; and two sisters, Stasia Pavan and Martha Colucci, both of Bound Brook.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Marie Dlugosz; a son, Casimir Dlugosz; sisters, Bertha, Mary, Helen, Adella and Theresa; and a brother, Chester.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 6, 2010, at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1325 Oak Hill Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Christopher Moore officiating.

Family will receive friends at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 5.

Additional visitation will be Saturday May 8, 2010, from 9 to 10:30 a.m at Bridgewater (N.J.) Funeral Home, 707 Main Street, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery in New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
