Power outages reported in Hagerstown

May 04, 2010

Power went out in parts of Hagerstown shortly after 10 p.m. Monday, including at the Hagerstown Police Department, where officers were depending on a generator for power.

"Everything went pitch black," Hagerstown Police Department spokesman Ronnie Trumpower said.

Trumpower said he was swamped with calls from people reporting that their power had been interrupted in the North End, the West End and the Salem Avenue area.

Trumpower said he did not know what caused the power outage.

911 dispatchers and Hagerstown Fire Department officials also said they did not know what cause the outage.
