Bags for dog waste being placed in town

KEEDYSVILLE --Keedysville officials will place bags in various spots across town for people to clean up after their dogs.

During a Monday meeting, the Town Council agreed to place two metal bag holders in the park, and one holder each behind Town Hall and at the ball field.

The council said it would give people a chance to use the bags before deciding to ban dogs from those locations.

Each bag holder costs about $80, Town Clerk Rick Bishop said.

Speeding discussed

KEEDYSVILLE -- The Town of Keedysville will investigate ways to make drivers slow down in the Cannon Ridge subdivision.

The council on Monday agreed to explore sharing the cost with the Cannon Ridge Homeowners Association to find a solution. Some of the possibilities included installing speed bumps or rumble strips.

Residents who attended the meeting said the speeding problem was prevalent on Sumter and Yankee drives.
