Boonsboro High School graduates are eligible to apply for a new scholarship through the Boonsboro Lions Club.
The scholarship is renewable and geared toward students in need. Recipients will receive $500 per semester for their freshman year and $1,000 per semester for their sophomore year as long as they maintain a 2.0 grade-point average and are enrolled at HCC full-time.
To receive the scholarship, students must:
o Submit an application to HCC.
o Fill out a 2010-11 FAFSA at http://www.fafsa.gov. Use HCC school code 002074.
o Completely fill in the scholarship application form, which can be obtained at the HCC student financial aid office.
o Attach a copy of their high school transcripts to the application form.
o Prepare a one-page essay on "How will your education at HCC help your future?" and include with application materials.
o Attend a Boonsboro Lions Club meeting upon receipt of the scholarship.
The application deadline is May 15.
