Chemical reaction bombs set off in Washington County yard

HAGERSTOWN -- The Maryland State Fire Marshal's office investigated an incident in which a Hagerstown-area woman heard explosions and later discovered two exploded chemical reaction bombs in her yard, the fire marshal's bomb squad said in press release.

The incident happened at 11514 Greenberry Road. The homeowner said she heard two explosions overnight Saturday night, but dismissed them as fireworks, the release said. The two exploded bombs were found in her yard Sunday morning.

The explosions did not damage the home or its contents, the release said.

The state fire marshal's office collected evidence and personnel were investigating the incident.
