CLEAR SPRING -- Damara McDonough and Breanne Purdham each had three hits, while Morgan Purdham struck out 12 and earned the complete-game win for Clear Spring in its MVAL Antietam victory against Williamsport (8-6, 6-5).

Haley Thorn and Hannah Leizear had two hits apiece for the Blazers (13-2, 9-2).

THURMONT, Md. -- Kenny Kitchen had three hits and four RBIs to lead the Rebels, who followed a 20-hit effort on Thursday with 19 hits in an MVAL Antietam win over the Cougars (8-8, 4-6).

Nick Stubbs had four hits for South (11-6, 8-4), while Ben Stone doubled twice and had three RBIs. Luke Toms had three hits and Garrick Bowers added two hits.

BOONSBORO -- Phil Hershberger hit a three-run home run in a five-run fourth inning which gave Boonsboro a 7-0 lead, and later turned back a Brunswick (8-10, 5-7) rally in the seventh inning to earn his first save of the season and give the Warriors an MVAL Antietam win.

Nick Lum had two hits and three RBIs, Brandon Nokes added three hits and Justin Lewis and Ryan Ruiz had two hits each for Boonsboro (3-14, 2-10).

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. -- Austin Nealey's RBI double in the first inning and T.J. Weisenberg's RBI single in the third gave Martinsburg the game's only two runs as the Bulldogs prevailed over Jefferson at Doubleday Field.

Brandon Cordell (3-1) allowed two hits and a walk while striking out four over 5 1/3 innings to get the win for Martinsburg (17-7). Leadoff walks in the first and third innings led to both runs.

Jamie Richard (1-2) allowed just two hits but walked five in 3 1/3 innings to take the loss for the Cougars (17-8).

The teams will play again this morning at 10 at Doubleday Field.
