Keedysville re-elects two incumbents

KEEDYSVILLE -- Residents of Keedysville chose an assistant mayor and two council members during Saturday's town election.

Assistant Mayor Barry Levey was re-elected after receiving 82 votes, Town Clerk Rick Bishop said. Challenger Dennis Embly garnered 11 votes and write-in candidate Victoria Gudeman received two votes, Bishop said.

Incumbent Richard Walton was elected to another term on the town council by receiving 68 votes, while Gudeman came in second with 35 votes to capture the other seat, Bishop said.

David Bajuscak finished third with 26 votes, while Mary Robertson received four votes, Amy Simmons gathered two votes, and Eric Ellis and Bob Wilkins received one vote each, Bishop said.

Incumbent Councilman David Brumage did not seek re-election.

Levey, Walton and Gudeman will be sworn in Monday to serve four-year terms, Bishop said.
